Wednesday Evenings with Dr. Fine
Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine have been used to help people for thousands of years and the same benefits are available for your beloved pets. These treatments work hand in hand with state-of-the-art western medicine to provide your pet with the best possible care. Acupuncture is virtually painless and most animals that are well-behaved for a physical exam will accept it easily.
Some common conditions that we treat include:
- Arthritis/Hip Dysplasia Disk Disease
- Kidney Problems Skin and Ear Disorders
- Digestive Disorders Cancer
Acupuncture is especially beneficial for senior dogs and cats. In addition to helping with the arthritis pain and stiffness so common in our older animal friends, acupuncture can help to improve the overall quality of life.
Dr. Eileen Mulcahy and Dr. Karen Fine are knowledgeable, experienced veterinary acupuncturists. Both have undergone extensive training available only to veterinarians and have been applying their skills for many years. Dr. Fine has had additional training and experience with Chinese herbal medicine, which compliments acupuncture well. Herbal medicine can be used to accomplish the same goals as acupuncture. When used together, they can work better than acupuncture alone. In addition, some animals who are not candidates for acupuncture can benefit from herbal medicine.
The overall benefits of acupuncture and herbal medicine include:
- Pain control -Relaxation
- Enhanced Immunity -Improved quality of life
- Increased Energy -Minimal side effects
- Long term cost-effectiveness
